Pat Jongewaard from Iowa sent in a photo of
her
breathtaking wall hanging.
Pat writes: "I
finally finished the Sewing Commandments wall
hanging. The designs stitched
out beautifully...it's hard to tell
they aren't done by hand. The hardest
part was finding more
black fabric when I ran out. Now that it's done I can
let my
local quilt shop show it for their March open house. Thanks
for the
beautiful designs

Val Nixon from Australia sent us these
photos of her lovely wall hanging.
Val writes: "I
purchased "Sewing Room
Commandments" from you and this was my first purchase on the web of
any sort!
Everyone who has
seen this project has gasped and gooed over it and I have also been asked
to put it in to a magazine. I have signed the back with "Designed and
made by Val Nixon using embroidery purchased from "The Purple Hat"
The cathedral
windows were embroidered on the bias over a whole cloth piece which I had
marked out and then cut after all embroideries were completed.

close up of one of the cathedral windows.
Val adapted the designs by
removing the quilt frame border
and stitching only the "rules" in each
window.

sewing room.
She writes: "I set the designs in hearts that I foundation pieced.
I
enjoyed making the quilt and your designs sewed out well
on my Janome
10000."
