Doris sent in a photo of her completed
Divine Doily.
Great job!
Doris writes: "Dear Anne, I
am very pleased with this beautiful project. Everything stitched perfect.
Attached are pictures of completed doily. I can't wait to make more!!!!!!
Thanks for very well digitized designs."
We also received an email
from Connie about her doily.
Connie writes:
"Hi Anne, Yesterday afternoon I finally had some time to start my appliqué
doily. Have to let you know how wonderful it is sewing out! At first, I
was concerned about cutting out the appliqué shape considering the sharp
angles and curves, but the satin stitching covers the edges so nicely! The
stippling shows up nicely behind the design and, of course, holds the fabric
down nicely, too! I also love the curved/swirly edge to the doily--very
attractive. "
Thanks Ladies! |

Jennifer B
has come up with such a creative use
for our
Christmas napkin sleeves
-
she's made a sewing room organizer!
Jennifer has very kindly shared her
method below:
|
|
Instructions:
To make the organizer, I stitched out
16 sleeves. Most of the pockets were adorned with your cross stitch
designs. I covered a piece of cardboard with batting and fabric and snug fit
it into an old picture frame. The pockets are attached to the backing board
at the top only, using a one inch wide band of appliqué heat-and-bond.
This was a wonderful way to keep organized, as well as to test stitch out
designs and make something useful from the stitch-outs.

These photos were
sent in by Charlotte B. She writes: "Here are some photos of your
Napkin Sleeves and Coasters. I made 24 of
these for a Sunday School Chili Party in our home. Each member was given a
personalized bib to keep the chili off clothes. Your work made a hit. I
have used these patterns for several wedding gifts. Thank you so much for
such nice work."

Barbara sent us this clever idea for making
an
"all-in-one" napkin holder.
Instead of making free standing napkin
sleeves, she used a store bought napkin as the backing, so that the napkin
sleeve design is embroidered directly onto the napkin. It now becomes a
built in cutlery holder.
Great idea, Barbara!
