Fairy Pillow Instructions
The tooth fairy pillows
are made up of 4 panels which are
sewn together to form the pillow top. A tooth
fairy verse is
included as well as an additional design which can be
personalized with the child's name.
The pocket panel is completely
made in
the hoop - the pocket
front is embroidered and attached to the backing
fabric panel
in a single hooping!

Fabric Choice
Most home decor fabrics can be used, either plain or patterned. We chose a
soft checked flannel for our pillows, making them soft and huggable.
|
Embroider the
Panels
- Embroider the designs for the
top left, top right and bottom left panels as usual.
- You can personalize the tooth
fairy pillow by adding a name to design fairytext02.

How to make the Pocket
Hoop a piece of water-soluble stabilizer.
Spray a thin mist of temporary
embroidery adhesive onto the hooped stabilizer and attach the piece of
fabric (+/- 4 x 4 inches) which will become the pocket front.
|

|
|
Use your color guide text file as a reference.
Color 1 stitches the pocket outline
Colors 2 - 8 embroiders the design on the pocket front
After color 8 is completed, remove
the hoop from your machine and gently lift the fabric away from the hooped
stabilizer. Trim close to the stitching line, taking care not to snip into
the pocket outline or the stabilizer. Careful handling is important so
that you do not distort the fabric.
Replace the hoop and embroider color
9. This color completes the scalloped top edge of the pocket.
|

|
|
Float your piece of
backing fabric behind the hoop (the fabric should be slightly larger than
your chosen panel size). Make sure it's smooth and
wrinkle free. Attach with pins or preferably adhesive spray. Embroider color 10.
This is the basting stitch which temporarily attaches the backing to your hooped stabilizer for extra stability.
Embroider color 11, the satin
stitch pocket outline which attaches the pocket front to the backing
fabric.

|
|
Remove fabric from
hoop. Unpick your basting stitches and remove the excess stabilizer. Your
pocket panel can now be trimmed to the same size as the other panels. |

|
| Your four panels are complete. Sew together to create your pillow top and finish as
desired. |
