These sachets are great for hanging in cupboards and on coat hangers,
suspended from beams or door knobs, fastened to chairs, placed in pillow
slips or stood on a bathroom shelf. They make ideal Valentine's or Mother's
Day gifts and are also perfect party favors for weddings, bridal showers,
anniversaries or birthdays.
Use your scraps and snippets of
lace, ribbon and pretty material for these sachets. All seams are enclosed,
so basically any fabric can be used. We used a variety of fabrics, including
satin, cotton, hessian and linen. Our sachets were trimmed with satin, lace
or organza bows, pretty cord and ribbon loops for easy hanging. |

Merrily W. sent us a photo of the lovely sachets she made.
Merrily writes: "You can
see that the one in the middle is a bit different. I turned the edges
under, floating a muslin backing under the hem and then used a Wing
Needle to do an heirloom hem all around. Filling was batting made into a
little pocket into which I put a spoonful of bath crystals. Popped it
inside before sewing last side with Wing Needle hem again." |
