Everyday Baskets for
Jumbo Hoops

Embroider your basket and handle pattern pieces
using two layers of
water soluble Vilene. Baskets are made from stiffened
craft felt
with pretty fabric appliquéd and stipple quilted on top of the felt.
Once the pattern pieces are ready, punch
through the eyelets with
your eyelet punch. Excess Vilene on the edges can be wiped
away with a damp cloth.

Thread ribbon through basket corners to create
the basket shape.

Add small blobs of fabric glue to the handle ends and place inside
or outside the basket, depending on your preference. Hold in
place with clothes pegs until the glue dries. |

Decorate the baskets with beads, crystals, silk
flowers, novelty buttons ... the options are endless. |
