Originally
from Mexico, Poinsettias have become popular Christmas decorations around
the world. The flower’s star shaped leaf pattern is said to symbolize
the Star of Bethlehem and its bright red color is supposed to represent
the crucifixion of Jesus.
The
brilliant Poinsettia was therefore a logical choice for decorating our new
super-sized "in the hoop" doily for 4x4 hoops. This project
consists of three designs, all embroidered on water soluble Vilene. Once
all the pieces have been made, they are sewn together with your sewing
machine.
The
completed doily measures a whopping 16 inches or 41 cm wide.
